Dirty Vegas

Dirty Vegas are Grammy Award winning artists from London, comprising of the incredibly gifted Ben Harris and Paul Harris (no relation) along with the distinctive vocal talents of Steve Smith.

Dirty Vegas exploded onto the scene with their self-titled debut album, which was one of 2002’s most provocative and popular releases, earning massive commercial success, along with unanimous critical acclaim. The collection made a huge impact upon its arrival, landing at No 7 on the Billboard 200, selling close to a million copies.

The single from the album ‘Days go by’, was a major dance and pop crossover sensation, which hit the top spot in the Billboard Dance Chart in 2002. The track also scored the band a 2003 Grammy Award for Best Dance Single.

Following the release of the album, and their Grammy Success, they went onto tour the four corners of the globe, developing a reputation as a powerful and entertaining live act. In a rollercoaster two years, the band headlined their own worldwide tour, supported such like-minded artists as Moby, Underworld and Groove Armada, and stole the show at a number of international festivals, including Coachella, V Festival, Roskilde and Fuji Rock.

Dirty Vegas have rocked dance-floors all over the world, with full live band and their hybrid live/dj sets, which has led to them remixing such legendary artists as Madonna , Justin Timberlake and Calvin Harris/Dizzie Rascal. Dirty Vegas have continued to have their music used in major Film and TV shows such as ‘The Soprano’s’ ‘The O.C’, and ’One Tree Hill’ and Films such as ‘Die Another Day’,’Running Scared’ and ‘Goal’.

In 2005, the boys felt they wanted to try other things and played a sell-out farewell live show at London’s Sheperds Bush Empire . In their time apart the boys concentrated on solo careers, but felt they would someday get back to what they do best.

December 2008 saw the release of the single ‘Pressure’ on Toolroom Records, the reviews were tremendous with full support from Pete Tong, Mark Knight and Sander Kleinenberg. Not only have the boys been busy working on numerous new singles plus a forthcoming album, they have also been remixing the likes of Dizzie Rascal and Ladytron. In January, they performed an acoustic/DJ set at a star-studded ‘Inauguration Party’ in DC in celebration of President Barack Obama, they then rushed off to play at Sundance Film Festival.

In Summer 2009, Dirty Vegas played memorable live shows at Glastonbury and Creamfields. DJ sets in London, Miami, Ibiza, Moscow, Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore & Manchester to name but a few. Their set at Stealth Live (Amnesia Ibiza) was such a stormer that Roger Sanchez himself asked the boys to step up and record a compilation set for his mighty label, Stealth.

In May 2009, the guys we’re asked to write and record the ‘Anthem’ for the prestigious IMS Summit, hosted by Pete Tong in Ibiza. The song ‘Tonight’ was recorded live at the Summit, and Above and Beyond remixed the track on Day 2. With proceeds going to Dance4life, powerhouse Toolroom Records stepped up and released the track and scored a Beatport Top Ten. They also found time to record the haunting ‘Crimson Sun’ with award winning DJ/Producers Sultan and Ned Shepard, as an exclusive track for Sultans NuBreed Compilation on Global Underground.

With their third studio album in the making, and the tour diary filling up, its back to business for the boys once again.
